25 May 2009Many companies have jumped on the Twitter bandwagon, including several US firms such as Southwest Airlines, Dunkin Donuts and more. The New York Times reported this week that a number of companies have an interest in using Twitter to promote their companies; one such company, a California based winery is currently looking for a member of staff to handle “social media”, by posting to Facebook, Tweeting and so on, the job has currently attracted more than 500 applicants, so whats the big deal? The job at the Murphy-Goode winery pays $10,000 USD per month.
A sign of things to come? Who knows, but it seems for serious tweeters there is money to be made.
